It might be a heck of a lot more difficult to get people to risk $700 if they honestly lose the phone, too. It’s a “6 of one half a dozen of the other” situation. The benefit to T-Mo/Apple if people intentionally “lose” the phone is that they can ban the IMEI basically making it an iPod Touch, and being a refurb, they aren’t losing that much (iPhones have a huge margin built in when purchased new). I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Yes, since my post a couple days ago, I’ve seen noticeable improvement. I’m on the Westside and am seeing 30-50 mbps down regularly in places I was seeing 15 or so before. Hell, my own bedroom has gone from single digits to 30-35.
